Get to Know – Asta T., UDW Dayshift Assembly Team Supervisor.Having worked with United Drug for over 18 years now in different roles, Asta takes us through what some of those roles have been like.Can you summarise your role for us?I am now the UDW Day Shift Assembly Supervisor. The main focus of my role is to ensure that the day shift in the warehouse runs smoothly and that all orders placed reach our customers on time.Were there areas of your previous roles which really stood out to you?I started here 18 years ago as a General Operative. I really enjoyed learning how each department in United Drug works - how we receive the stock, how we distribute to different sections, how the products are picked and shipped to dispatch. I also spent time dealing with customer queries. This was an interesting experience as I got to investigate an issue and then follow it through to the very end stage of resolution.What aspect of your job do you like the most?In my role, I get to see the direct results of mine and my teams efforts, which is incredibly rewarding. Seeing how positively our work impact the customers is very fulfilling. I like to be accessible to my colleagues, so I try to make time for everyone who stops by and sometimes, there may even be a Q of people at my desk!! This is where my organisational skills come into action – I want to help everyone and remain approachable, but we have lots to do each day too.What is something you feel you add to the office?I know how to make every person feel included in the workplace. Everyone has a role, and we all need each other.We go through the good and bad days together. Without my team, I wouldn’t be able to do this job. What is a piece of advice you would give to a new starter?Always remember that your customer is the patient. We work very hard to distribute lifesaving medicine, and our motto “we deliver health” describes perfectly how essential our job is. What is something about you that your colleagues may not know?I like to be in nature. I often exchange weekend shopping for walks in the park, a stroll by the sea or explore a forest with my children. I also love to spend my weekends in the local library. I sit, read a book and enjoy some much-needed quiet time after the week in a noisy warehouse!#ourpeople #recognisingyou #dayinthelife #wedeliverhealth #wePHOENIX
